Mount Huashan

Mount Huashan, known as “West Mountain” in ancient times and “Taihua Mountain” in elegant terms, is one of the five mountains, located in Huayin City, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province, 120 kilometers east of the provincial capital Xi ‘an. South Qinling Mountains, north eye view of Huangwei, since ancient times there has been “the first mountain in the world”. The “Hua” of China originates from Huashan Mountain, thus Huashan Mountain is called “the root of China”.

Huashan Mountain is the holy land of the mainstream Quanzhen sect of Taoism in China, which is also the “fourth cave heaven” and the god widely worshiped by the Chinese people, that is, the king God of Huashan Mountain in the West Mountain. A total of 72 semi-hanging voids, more than 20 Taoist temples, of which Yuquan Yuan, Durong Temple, East Temple, Zhenyue Palace are listed as the national key Taoist temple, there are Chen Tuan, Hao Datong, He Yuanxi and other Taoist high figures.

Way to go
High-speed rail: From Xi ‘an North Railway Station to Huashan North Railway Station, it takes about 30 minutes.
By car: By bus from Xi ‘an East Railway Station to Huayin, it takes about 2 hours.
By car: Navigate to Huashan Scenic area, the whole journey is about 120 kilometers, about 2 hours by car.
Climbing route
There are two main ways to climb Mount Huashan:

North Peak route: From Ciyun Temple, pass by Qianchi Building, Canglong Ridge, Kite turn and other scenic spots, and finally arrive at the North Peak, the whole journey is about 4 hours.
Xifeng route: From Yuquan Yuan up the mountain, through the scenery of Qingke Ping, Baobu, Sheshi Cliff, etc., to Xifeng, the whole journey is about 6 hours.


Equipment preparation
Comfortable hiking shoes: Choose a non-slip, wear-resistant sole with a high upper to protect the ankle.
Light storm clothing: the temperature difference on the mountain is large, need to prepare a set of waterproof clothing.
Simple drugs: such as band-aids, Yunnan Baiyao spray and other commonly used drugs need to be prepared.
Proper amount of water: It is recommended to bring chocolate, beef jerky and other high-energy foods, and prepare more water.
Classic shooting point
Changkong Skywalk: The most breathtaking scenic spot on Huashan Mountain, suspended over a kilometer-long cliff.
Golden lock Pass: Only one person can pass between the two boulders, which contains the meaning of “a liberation into a fairy”.
Sunrise view from Chaoyang Peak: The perfect location to watch the sunrise from Huashan Mountain. The sea of clouds is gorgeous and the color of the clouds is endless.
Lotus Peak: Located at the highest point of the West Peak, on the 1614 stone steps, overlooking the mountains like a lotus flower in full bloom.


Hidden route
Wisdom Huashan: Named after Jin Yong’s novel “Tianlong Eight”, it needs to climb and wade, which is an epic route.
Zhenyue Palace: the first ancient building of Huashan Mountain, hidden between the mountainside, red walls and black tiles, strong incense.
Yuquan Yuan: Huashan Taoist holy land, there are waterfalls and springs, you can also taste the Taoist vegetarian vegetarian.
Fairy Cave: According to legend, it is the cultivation place of eight immortals when they cross the sea.
Matters needing attention
Respect for faith: Huashan is a famous Taoist mountain, be sure to pay attention to your words and deeds when climbing, do not make loud noises.
Protect the environment: do not litter, do not scribble on the stone wall, take care of nature.
Pay attention to safety: strictly follow the regulations of the scenic area, do not climb or enter undeveloped areas without permission.
Do what you can: There are many scenic spots in Huashan, and the journey is far away. You should plan your trip reasonably according to your physical strength.
