ESIM for China Travel

eSIM is only supported in some areas of China

Prerequisites

● Mobile phones that support eSIM cards: Hong Kong iPhone XS, US iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR;

● The device needs to be updated to iOS 12.1 and above;

● Operator support is required, you can go to find wireless operators that provide eSIM services.

Mainland users can use eSIM services on some smart terminal devices, or use local Hong Kong services on iPhone in a roundabout way

Currently, there are several operators in Hong Kong that can provide services, and we can experience it through roaming.

Although the final network uses China Unicom’s base stations, the eSIM service of Hong Kong operators is actually opened.

Currently in mainland China, you can try the travel eSIM cards of Club and 3HK under Hong Kong CLS. These packages are all prepaid packages.

Among them: Club eSIM application is free, with a two-day China roaming package;

3HK launched 10 packages, priced at 138 yuan (disabled at any time), and time will be deducted when used.

You can apply online directly. When applying, you need a Hong Kong mobile phone number to receive the verification code.

◦ The eSIM card is valid for one year, and no card activation is required;

◦ After activation, it is valid for 90 days;

◦ Each mobile phone number can only be applied once.

How to activate and experience the eSIM function of iPhone for free in mainland China?

Available regions include: mainland China, Australia, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand.

The eSIM card supports the activation of Hong Kong local data packages, and also has roaming package services in multiple countries and regions, with acceptable prices.

The most prominent feature is that when traveling to these countries, you can activate a roaming package without a physical card.

Roaming supports mainland China. The network uses Hong Kong IP and supports access to services such as Google, Instagram, Facebook, etc., which is suitable for emergency situations.

After activation, you need to go to the Club SIM app to bind before you can purchase a package. You may be prompted to require identity authentication. You can directly contact customer service to submit your identity information.
