The relevant person in charge of the China Immigration Administration said that since China implemented the 72/144-hour transit visa-free policy in January 2013, the transit visa-free policy has played an important role in serving the country’s high-level opening up, facilitating exchanges between Chinese and foreign personnel, and promoting foreign exchanges and cooperation. The expansion of the 144-hour visa-free transit policy in the two provinces has provided more options for foreign nationals to travel and trade in China. In the next step, the National Immigration Administration will continue to improve and optimize the transit visa-free policy, continue to further promote the institution-based opening of immigration management, welcome foreigners to China with a more open attitude, and make every effort to promote high-level opening and high-quality development.
